The Cotswolds
Lapstone Barn
Marcia & Michael brief was to have a very natural organic look to their wedding enjoy the richness of Autumn in the Cotswolds. We made flower designs that felt wild, textural, and deeply connected to the season, capturing the warm golden light and the rich tones of an English countryside. With a colour palette of peach, champagne and toffee mixed with jewel-toned shades of burnt orange, burgundy & berry. Richard autumn foliage was woven throughout the designs which blended in harmony with Lapstone Barn’s rustic charm.
Marcia’s bouquet was a loose natural style in a slightly asymmetric shape using lots of textures for natural movement. Peach and champagne roses nestled amongst burgundy and burnt orange blooms, with wisps of grasses and berries adding seasonal richness with soft trailing off white chiffon ribbons. The perfect bouquet to compliment the brides stunning beaded lace dress.
Bridesmaids wearing soft champagne long satin dresses carried a smaller version of Marcia’s bouquet echoing the peach, burgundy and burnt orange hues — tied with trailing champagne chiffon ribbons creating a beautiful cohesive look. The groom and his groomsmen embraced the season in sage green country tweed tailored suits, paired with stylish champagne and sage paisley ties. With boutonnieres featuring miniature blooms with berry accents and wisps of grasses.
I created a natural autumnal arch and meadows flowers for the ceremony. We designed the ceremonial space to feel immersive and atmospheric with a natural broken arch which we created using abundant foliage, climbing textures and layered florals in peach, burnt orange and burgundy tones. Rich autumn leaves added depth and warmth, making the design feel as though it had grown organically within the barn itself. The aisle meadow flower designs were the perfect combination with the beautiful broken arch.
Long banqueting trestle tables with glass bud vases of flowers in the same shades of champagne, peach, burgundy, and berry allowed the autumn warmth to shine through, while the meadow-inspired arrangements were re-positioned at each table end and in front of the top table which brought it all together.
Candlelight played a starring role to their tablescapes with luxury champagne nude candles in warm gold candlesticks casting a golden flicker across the barn as evening fell. We repositioned their natural broken arch so that it could be enjoyed throughout the wedding breakfast adding a beautiful feature against the honey tones of brickwork in the Northwick room creating a wonderful cohesive look throughout.
A celebration rich in warmth, texture, and jewel-toned seasonal romance — effortlessly rustic, beautifully natural, and deeply evocative of autumn in the Cotswolds.
